I've worked on the railway for a number of years now and wish for the prosperity of the industry.................................................................................
but what is so special about Healey Mills, apart from it being an East-West transit yard??

Well for me it has always been my local yard/depot and I have spent many happy times there. As have a lot of others who come on this site.

Out of interest HomerMonk what brought you to the HM website?

I used to be a member of the traincrew at HM in the early to mid 80's.

I was actually searching for a railway related topic and stumbled upon the site.

I enjoyed my time there immensely, but can't understand what makes it anymore special than a dozen or so other yards.

Then again, each to their own.
