Healey Mills faces Closure
Healey Mills faces Closure
So our friends at EWS are considering closing Healey Mills.
It seems that this time it may close. For the past 10 years it seems that closure has been coming and it has been a close thing on at least one occasion.
Can't see any of the other operators wanting to buy/take over Healey Mills so.....
.......maybe in the year of Healey Mills' 40th Birthday she will hear it is time to go.
A sad end to a once thriving depot/yard.

Most Level 4's at the CSDC are Cabbages so they aren't usually believed by their own colleagues - but in the current climate nobody can dispell any rumours to come from the Doom Dome. Can EWS Justify closing one of the only EAST - WEST transit Yards they have on the books????
P Line near the Service Shed is owned and maintained by Network Rail and so would (we suspect) remain operational.

closure
This is the whole point people,"once great depot" and "thriving" are a thing of the past to be honest, times are a changing i would imagine the only maintainance carried out are inspections now a days.
If EWS can wipe out greats like crewe diesel in a blink then what does the remains of hm stand a chance? Unfortunately like it or not there is going to be bugger all left in this country before long. thats life!

How the hell can you class Crewe Diesel as a "great"? Clearly you have never been there and have no back ground in the railways, the only thing they could fix were Duffs and look whats happen to that fleet of loco's, they have all been stored!!!!! As far as I am aware Healey Mills is NOT closing at the end of 2005, there is more chance of finding Lord Lucan riding Shergar!!!! So we'll have less of the mindless banter, just remember staff at Healey Mills read this website and don't need your types making them think they are redundant.
Cheers

Closure
I'm not interested in finding Lord Lucan, or Shergar, but thought you might be interested to hearing what I'd been told.
I hope the information is wrong (I was once a member of the footplate staff at the depot and would hate to witness it's demise) but if you can't react to it like a "grown up" then TOUGH, put on your anorak, sandals and NHS spectacles and head for Toton!

My Dearest Monk,
Please refer back to the comment about level 4 staff at the Doom Dome - they've all been certified by a qualified doctor as been from the garden vegetable variety!!!!!
I would lodge a safe bet on the Level 4's (with their middle ranged 5 figure salaries and company Jaguars) to be redundant before Healey Mills Yard.
Ta Ta
Is Monk's perception of being a grown spreading unfounded rumours on the internet so that Healey Mills traincrew are now under the impression that their jobs are under threat? Oh thats so grown up isn't it! I think i would rather stay immature and do the the "childish" job i am paid to do, which by the way is working for EWS. If Monk is so sure if himself, reveal the Lev 4 manager that told him.
Must dash gotta act like a child, the Teletubbies is on!!!!

Please can we have less of the insulting postings. If someone hears a rumour and thinks it worth telling us all, then surely it can be refuted if you don't believe it without resorting to a slanging match----which is a waste of most of our time reading it.
I sincerely hope HM doesn't close--the railway is being decimated enough as it is---apart from the fact I wouldn't like to see anyone out of work.
Cheers DEREK

dear "guest",
I stated a while ago as crewe diesel depot as a "great" as it was, as for my no background what so ever as you imply im now nearly 30 and been into this since i was 14.
I dont know how old you are and no offence meant!! but if u look at depot allocations even in the 80"s hm was never really a player on bigger depots. nobody needs to slag anybody, its just the way it was. what i said was depots such as BR,CD,TI,ED,GD and SF have all gone and they WERE major players. if your gonna quote depot pride and staff morale look at tinsley it was renowned for it.
EWS will crush any site thats not comercially viable and the only way HM has survived so long is its location no work equals no depot, shit but it happens in every industry.HM is the nearest depot to me as i live near halifax and im not biased as i dont even work in the industry, totally neutral!but get a grip man if its rumour nice one if its not im sorry but as i said last time thats life!
As for the duff comment it has nothing to do with who looked after them, bearing in mind thats about every location in the country at one time its purely and simply there is NO more work for them with EWS. I really reackon you should realise that things are slippin away nothing lasts forever!!
