Join enthusiasts for a rail-y good time
A RAILWAY club for enthusiasts to share their knowledge and experience will reopen its doors next week.
Ossett Railway Group will start a new season of talks and discussions next Wednesday.
The group was formed in 1987 by Mike Thompson, of Ossett.
He said: “If you are interested in railways why not come along and enjoy an informal evening where you will be made very welcome by myself and other people who are interested in various aspects connected with railways.”
The detailed autumn programme will begin with a slide show on the Leeds to Doncaster line through Wakefield Westgate and also include debates and talks on steam, diesel and electric locomotives, passenger and freight lines and preserved railways.
Mr Thompson said: “All aspects of the railways are covered with slides and videos along with lively debates.”
The group will meet at Ossett Community Centre, Prospect Road, every Wednesday, from 7pm to 9.30pm, until April 12, 2006. Entrance is £3.15. For more information contact Mr Thompson on 01924 273912.
