Ferrybridge set to close?

08798 (WSWX) which went missing following its removal by road from Ferrybridge a couple of days ago has turned up at Toton. It is likely although unconfirmed at this stage that the transfer of 08798 to Toton has something to do with the proposed transfer of shunter overhauls to the Nottinghamshire depot to facilitate the closure of Ferrybridge.

is this rumour true? with the transfer of the 56's there i can't make up if it is or nor. anyone know.

The Class 08 overhaul program has been moved to Toton thats why they are moving the pilots down there, the site will remain to house the stored 56's for the time being, hope that clears it up a little.

After sepaking to the fitters earlier this week - Ferrybridge is a the time of writing devoid of any operational staff (some of which have transferred to TOTON with the Pilot Refurb programme).
The only things left on site as far as can be determined are a couple of robbed 08 chassis and the stored Type 5's which are in secure store inside the Loco and Wagon Shops.
